Every attendant I've worked with over the phone has been spot on, particularly Michael, who expedited my last order to get it here on time for a very important trip in my airstream. The workmanship and customer service again I cannot extol sufficiently! Had to order a new window awning after my bus was backed into. This bus is 30 years old and had no ID tag for the awning or fabric. Katherine helped me with my order after a lot of emails and measurements. Unfortunately, yhe 1st window awning they sent was wrong, but they took care of it and sent me a new one. I have ordered from them twice and all has been great with customer service. They are a smaller company so be patient. Only so many people trying to get things done for us!

We have had to replace a couple of things on our 1998 Country Coach since we bought it in 2017. Zipdee has been more than helpful every time we have needed help. The customer service was excellent! The person (I wish I could remember her name) we spoke with during our recent call last week knew exactly what we needed, was patient as we asked questions to clarify and was very knowledgeable and pleasant. This is a great company with a great product.

8/2024 went to ZipDee dealer Des Moines IA for new motor. Needed an adapter (10 day wait). Didn’t work, got new circuit board. Needed new arms (10 day wait). One “new arm” didn’t work. (10 day wait). Awning worked but not reliably. Installer left mass of wiring hanging from circuit board.
2/2025: doesn’t work. Went to ZipDee dealer in Tucson. Couldn’t figure it out. $380 labor. Still doesn’t work.

Had issue with awning not retracting/ extending properly. Called tech support. Mike was fantastic! Had all the expert knowledge to walk me through all different
types of diagnostic testing and we found out that it was a loose connection in the trailer wall. Made repair and awning working perfect. If you ever have an issue with a Zip Dee awning, call them they are professionals!

We have. 2023 Airstream International 27. 3 months after we purchased our trailer the manual road-side window awning had an issue with the main spring becoming unsprung pushing past the “dimple “ that holds it. I reached out to Zip Dee and after a rather frustrating call was able to get instructions on how to fix it myself by drilling and placing a few rivets. It seemed to work and the awning was functioning properly. A couple of months later the Electric patio awning began “skipping” when closing. Another call to Zip Dee that resulted in more drilling and rivets!! It seemed to have solved the problem with the main awning. A couple months later (6 months old) the road-side awning spring again unraveled. Another call, more frustration, more and larger rivets!! This time it again “seemed” to have fixed the issue. All of this happened on an extended trip up the east coast to Maine from Florida. They did offer to replace the smaller curb-side awning. This would require sending it to the closest dealership on our return home. (4 hours away from home). After having it evaluated and discussing it with the dealership the said it’s probably not going to be an issue anymore and we should be good go.

We have cautiously used both awnings and they seemed to be working. I regularly clean and lubricate the arms and struts as per the instructions.

About a year later on our trip out west the electric patio awning started blowing fuses! I don’t know how many hours I spent on the phone and tracking down wires to find the short. I must have accidentally corrected it as it magically began working again… for about another month. Now it will only open a few feet as one of the arms is not functioning properly or is out of sync!!! Another trip to the dealership to have them check and possibly re-clock everything.

Then the road-side awning came unsprung again (3rd time)! I should have insisted it be replaced. This time the spring seems to have broken as it will not rewind! Of course it’s a weekend and they don’t open until Monday. We are now held hostage by a broken awning that we cannot secure 800 miles from home.

On a positive note, they stand by their products and their warranty. Keep in mind, You may have to do the repair work yourself. The people that work there on the phone are very friendly and really try to be helpful!! That being said, if you deal with Linda, she is one of the most frustrating people you will ever encounter on the phone!! Very knowledgeable but…

Would I recommend Zip Dee Awnings….Yes and NO, if you have an airstream it’s the only thing that fits. When they work they’re great. When they break or malfunction it’s a nightmare!! If they didn’t come on or trailer I honestly don’t think I would purchase them.

I stopped by to pick up and awning that I ordered for my vintage airstream travel trailer. The staff was just about to go on their scheduled lunch break (that they clearly informed me of in advance) but they took the time to modify their schedules and got my awning loaded up and made sure that I had all the proper parts and that everything was correct. They took the time to take a look over my trailer to verify that some of the current hardware would work with me new awning. I had a speedy but great experience with the folks at Zip Dee and I’m grateful for their excellent service!
