I have used Blue Ridge Roofing for 3 separate jobs now. They replaced our roof, a 64’ long gutter with leaf guard, and also performed a very substantial deck repair. The work has been very prompt and high quality. Most of all, they are very good people to deal with and their prices are very fair and better than some of the popular home improvement companies in the area.

I was recommended Blue Ridge by a co-worker as we were looking to have a new deck put on the front door.

I'm giving a review of 4 stars. This is mainly due to a lack of communciation. Originally I would have only rated for 3 stars. But recently have had an update and I appreciate the labor and work ownership. The craftsmanship is good and the customer service is amazing.

Originally reached out to get a quote and we received one very quickly. Comparing the different quotes, Blue Ridge was in the middle of the pack of the 3 received. We decided to go with Blue Ridge. We had the installation scheduled and due to weather and holidays it was delayed. I find this at no fault for Blue Ridge.

Where my frustration was regarding work had started and was halfway completed, but then had to be torn down and started over. The original structure also wasn't being built to quote specifications. We were told this was a crew issue. I wasn't as frustrated at the tear down, just lack of communication to myself or husband regarding days expecting to be at my house. The extra work to make it right ended up pushing the cost over the original quote.

I'm very appreciative of not being charged the extra cost as it was a crew issue and not a scope change. The final team who finished the structure did an amazing job. After using a couple of times, I noticed there was an issue with the size of the steps. I contacted Blue Ridge and explained the issue. Blue Ridge is working on making the adjustment and I'm happy with their customer service between Stacy and Mr Asbury. They've been very kind and understanding.

Mr. Ashby provided two quotes for me, one tackling my immediate problem (downspout and guttering not functional in one area of my house) and the other for the whole house except for a section that he said looked fine. It had been replaced more recently, but I might add, is still old but good). I appreciated these options and appreciated his judging that one section as good enough. He also did an exceptional job of choosing the color I needed. I think of myself as very good with color, and I hesitated a bit. But he was exactly right! Listen to him! The new guttering looks beautiful. The two workmen, Wayne Urie and Evan Meadows, were very pleasant, polite, and extremely helpful. They re-attached a cable line that had nothing to do with the guttering work, and it's tighter than it has ever been. How nice of them! At the end of the job they showed me choices they had made that were needed because of the alignment of old guttering. I really appreciated this level of professionalism. I was VERY pleased. I will come back again when I'm ready to do my whole house!

Blue Ridge Roofing and Home Improvement completed my roof tear off and replacement in one day. It is a size-able roof, approximately 41 square. They showed up around 8am and went right to work and worked all day until the job was completed. They were also careful to clean up all debris, and swept the yard with a magnet to ensure no nails were left behind. All workers were very respectful and courteous. I highly recommend them, would definitely use them again.

I would highly recommend this company for the great work, quality and outstanding service they provided for my family and I. The crew was kind and respectful, and did a great job cleaning up afterward as well. What started out as a new porch roof project, turned into a new metal roof for the entire home. I needed a roof repaired and the job was completed quickly and well done. I was concerned about debris because of my animals and they went over the area several times cleaning up. Mr Ashby came out and walked the job with me answering all my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend them and use their services in the future.

These guys were amazing. Absolutely busted their tails until the roofing job was finished. One guy spent several hours down on his hands and knees making sure to clean up every nail he could. The recent snow/ice made this job difficult, but they didn’t let it stop them! They had to carry several things uphill a long way from the road. But they did it and didn’t complain. Our grill cover was slightly damaged from falling debris, but Blue Ridge made it right and then some. We had a HUGE chimney that had to be torn down. Because of the height of the chimney the crew had to adjust their plan, but they were determined to get it down and did so, causing no damage. I’d highly recommend this company. It definitely seems to be ran right! Our roof looks great and we couldn’t be more pleased.

This will be an honest review of Blue Ridge Roofing & Home Improvement. I hired them to replace the shingles on my roof. The job took almost 3 weeks to finish. Some of that was due to the lead man being bitten by my dog on the first evening. Before he was bitten, I finished mowing my yard to discover that they had tied my dog to a tree. Let me say that my dog had never bitten anyone and I asked if they wanted me to put the dog inside and I was told no. I think the dog wanted to play as she always grabs my hands when I am wearing gloves and the man panicked and was bitten in the shuffle. When I got to the man, my dog was laying calmly on the ground, not struggling or growling. Her hackles were not raised. My dog is a German Shepherd.
At his request, I took him to the emergency room. No stitches were required.
Over the next 3 weeks, he was on the job site on and off. On multiple days he was there in the morning, and then left after about half a day. When he left, I had no way to communicate with his crew as they only spoke Spanish and I did not. When he left, that left one man on the roof and another fetching and toting and generally helping out.
They parked their vehicles in my yard without asking permission. At one point there were 4 vehicles parked in my yard. Once they left their lunch trash by the driveway. Cleaning up after them, I found an empty bottle of Modelo beer tossed in the bushes. By the way, neither my wife or I drink. They spun a large rut in the driveway with one of their trucks. They didn’t bother to repair the damage.
They broke one of the “scallops” off of the facia with their ladder. They did not repair the damage. They left a hole at the chimney edge where a couple of damaged boards were removed. I had to point out the hole to them in order for it to be covered. They left a screw container on top of a window air conditioner on the second floor.
One day, a Wednesday, they packed up and left at 11:00 am without saying a word. They did not show up on Thursday. I called and was told that the lead man’s hand was hurting and he would be back maybe on Saturday but definitely on Monday. They didn’t show on Saturday nor did they show up on the following Monday.
This job took over 3 weeks to finish. They did have to remove a damaged chimney from the roofline up and repair some rotten boards on the porch roof. They replaced the chimney with vent pipe. I have a pellet stove and it was critical that they keep the stainless liner intact. They did, but they installed a used piece of chimney pipe and secured the 3-inch pellet stove liner cap to the top of the pipe. It looked terrible. I had to bring it to their attention and ask that they put something better looking up. They did, but I had to complain about it first. Why not just install it correctly the first time? When the roofing job was “done”, I discovered that they used multiple pieces of black flashing against the house. I have a white house and the shingles were green. The black flashing jumped out. They returned the following day, after I called the office, and replaced the black with white flashing.
They bent the aluminum wrap on the windows in multiple places while installing the shingles. I had to point it out and complain in order to get the bent flashing replaced.
I had to communicate with the office multiple times. I was told that it was unusual because the crew were usually very fast and reliable. I found them to be neither.
I was not given a written guarantee or warranty on the work. I was told to just let them know if there was a problem and they would take care of it.
I think the additional work was very overpriced for what was done. The chimney cap was not what I asked for and was a simple cap made of bent aluminum.
With all that happened, the additional cost, the time the job took, the lack of communication and the final job, I cannot give Blue Ridge Roofing a high rating.
