Several years ago we had a company from Effingham Illinois put an epoxy coating on the concrete around our pool… the result was horrible and the company sold out soon after the job was completed. The new owner did nothing to help us.

Today… Central Epoxy Flooring finalized the complete removal of the previous coating and installed all new. The result is amazing and we are very happy. The whole team was Professional, Hard Working, and Detailed.

Derick and his helper were very nice. We’re here around 10:30 and we’re done a little before 4:00. They did an excellent job! I also plan to have them do my garage in a couple of months. I would recommend them !!!!!!!

Three years later, and the floor still looks great. No chipping or flaking anywhere. Oil, grease, brake fluid, and transmission fluid wipe right up. After the recent snow, the leftover salt and crud mopped up with hot water! The best investment you can make in your garage!

Very disappointed. They were nice but when their mistakes and areas they missed were pointed out they did not handle properly. They completely missed a few spots and rather than moving the carpet on my stairs, they just put the epoxy into it. The floor was spiky everywhere, it hurt to walk on. They came back quickly to "fix" the issues but rushed the job and did not take the proper steps for the patches. While the floor is much smoother, they mixed an extremely different color and still put it down. This confuses me. So I have random very blue patches on a gray floor. I understand a metallic floor patch will not look the same, as in design, Derek kept speaking of that even though it wasn't what I was referring to, basically treating me like I didn't understand. I had done my research so I know the processes. I still have a 5x34in, sticky "patch" in front of my stairs that I will have to fix. When I pointed this out while they were still here, he had nothing to say about it, just "that's what it does", which is not true.. They left random blue streaks on the floor that are permanent and got blue pigment on my walls and banister that won't come off. Very messy. Looks very unprofessional. On the phone later, Derek claimed the floor never needed fixing and was perfect.... so then why is it now smoother and needed patches? If it was perfect, they wouldn't have had to come back. I honestly should have called a different company. I have photos of all the issues. They did refund $200, which is not nearly enough to have it repaired. What bugs me most is he thinks there was nothing wrong. I dont feel that he truly knows what he doing, not yet, and needs a bit more training. He showed me a previous patch job from the same day that was also a very very different color than the rest of the floor and he also received a 1 star review that day, I'm guessing from that person. So I know I'm not the only one. The bathroom floor was done very poorly as well and I will have to replace some carpet.
They posted pictures of my floor on their fb page but left out the mistakes and made sure that none of the issues can be seen, so it looks really nice, very misleading and frustrating.

Very professional, and took time to describe how this flooring system will work did a great job, listening to the look, I was going for. I am very grateful and appreciate all of their hard work. I love my flooring, and would use them again in a heartbeat!

🚨 STAY AWAY 🚨

Hopefully they don’t turn out like ours did only a couple weeks after it was finished we have fox 2 St. Louis coming out Monday for the atrocious experience we’ve had with them!

The company and the owner Derek screwed up the first time and they had to take it up and redo it and now it’s jacked up again and I was told to hire someone else and that was it after $28k I spent with them.

This is the second time I’ve used them and this time was a nightmare! Stay tuned for the texts, the videos/audio, and news story next week.

Cancelled the checks yesterday and filed a fraud case with our bank as well.

CEF's team applied the color flecks unevenly and failed to sufficiently clear and scrape the surface before adding the topcoat. This created bare spots, thick spots, and random bits of debris embedded in the surface. They next added the topcoat, and they added such a small amount of it that the final texture was very uneven including spots that were rough enough (read: sharp) to cut socks and bare skin.

I sent them photos and requested assistance.

To their credit, CEF was very communicative and expressed a clear understanding of the problem and an intent to correct it. They sent another team to me to do so. However, that team failed to produce an acceptable product, which I again demonstrated to CEF. Other teams were later sent out to make additional attempts at resurfacing the floor, and each one presented a final product that, while better than the original one, was still uneven and in some spots sharp enough to threaten clothing and skin.

This back-and-forth went on for a little more than a year. The final attempt to resolve the issues involved two guys marking off some clearly-bad section of the floor with duck tape and resurfacing them. When they were finished, the duck tape didn't come up from the floor. It's permanently bonded to the topcoat and can't be removed without destroying a portion of topcoat. The team was unable to fix that problem in the moment and--while apologizing profusely--promised they would do so at a later time.

I didn't hear anything for a while. More than a month later, I missed a call from CEH, and the voicemail said they wanted to (finally) send out another team to fix the duck tape problem. At this point, the job was about a year and a half old, it had involved at least half a dozen extra visits from CEF teams, and I was completely out of trust and patience.

I didn't call them back, nor will I ever. I will fix the floor myself and out of my own pocket instead of allowing Central Epoxy Flooring to touch it again.

Derek and his team did a fantastic job on the epoxy floor in our business. He got to us quickly and worked around our business hours. The floor turned out great!
