Steven provided excellent communication and assembled a highly skilled network of designers and subcontractors who met both schedule and budget constraints.
Designer Kari found a way to minimize the number of posts required, effectively reducing costs.
As a structural engineer, I truly appreciate the craftsmanship of carpenters Christian and Dylan in building our steel structure, composite deck, and roof.
We were impressed by Nate’s meticulous electrical installation, and the contractors responsible for the footings, concrete, railing, and roofing were top-tier.
We’ve already enjoyed countless moments on this deck with friends and family, and we know there are many more to come. We highly recommend Custom Decks.

Working with the custom decks crew was amazing! George was super communicative, considerate, and worked through a heat wave to get the work done. Mikey, Lionel, and Christian were also amazing. I reached out to Custom Decks about a small deck project, and while the job was too small for their scope, they went above and beyond to help me out. They referred me to someone who would be a better fit for the work, and when I followed up a couple days later with questions about that referral, they promptly gave me a call to share more details about their experience working with them. I would avoid this company at all costs. We were planning on going with this company for a very large project (over $100,000) until we had some very concerning, unprofessional, and confrontational email exchanges with the owner. He expressed that he is "a very busy person who runs 3 different companies across 10 states". Customer service is clearly not his strong suit.Thankfully, we had not signed the final contract and have now found a company that is much more respectful and customer forward. If you are looking to work with a company that engages respectfully and collaboratively with their client, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

I had an overall great experience with Custom Decks. We worked together to detail out the project, deciding everything from brick colors to style of mantle. During the project, they worked diligently through the approval and permitting processes. Communication was great and questions were answered promptly. Even during the build they suggested some tweaks to the final plans to make things better and they were right.

This project was fairly expensive and it had a good bit of lead time waiting for their schedules to free up. But I knew all of this before even starting the project and was ok with it. Once the project started it was done on time and on budget.

They want to do a good job and stand behind their work. All around a successful project.

I hired this company for a outdoor kitchen and pergola. After the pergola was completed, I pointed out that the crew had installed main beams with cracks the entire length of the beams. After several weeks claiming they were going to come replace them, they sent out some guy who only replaced 1/2 the beams. Finally, they were to come to replace the beams, but these were cracked too (photo below). I would stay far FAR away from this company as they do not stand behind their product.

8.12.2025 - In response to the reply from Custom, I know wood cracks. The photo posted in the original post was the boards Custom dropped off at my house after I complained about the boards you installed cracking. You would think your company would have inspected the boards before taking them from the lumber yard, which apparently did not happen. When I alerted Steve, your project manager that these boards were cracked too, he ghosted me. That is why I posted this review so others would not have my same experience. You were paid in full for this project, something that was missing from your response.
