The woman who works there was, unnecessarily, extremely rude for no apparent reason. To make a purchase,. However in good conscience, I could not make a purchase after the way I had been so horribly treated and spoken to.

I ordered about $1,000 of lights on 11/6. I was quoted 2 weeks for them to be made. At no point was I told that the parts were not held in stock or that the quote was liable to be off significantly. The quoted time factored significantly into my decision to buy from decorum.

I called to check in at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks post-order. At each point, I was told that they expected to have them done within the week.

At 8.5 weeks, I had had enough and picked up the lights. They were missing the crossbars, and the owner refused to take any off of their display units to make my order whole.

At each point, the lady was incredibly rude to me.

I understand that small businesses are beholden to their vendors, but I was given no information, no timeline, no apologies, and a rude attitude.

The lights, if complete, would have been what I had asked for. Some pictures attached.

I was also not given any kind of remediation in the form of a refund or anything.

They said they'll let me know when the rest of the parts come in, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would very seriously urge anyone considering getting custom lights here to find them elsewhere. I wanted to do the charity of paying extra money to support a small business and I'm very disappointed in that decision.

I brought an old rickety lamp to them and they miraculously transformed it into a working (safe!) piece. I am so thrilled to have found this magical shop!

Expert craftsman. Friendly and knowledgeable. They custom built outside lanterns for us in 1977, then restored them in 2016.
We also replaced two lanterns that were unable to be restored after 40 years of island weather. Great selection to choose from.

Lovely stock but most unhelpful young woman salesperson ever! (I am a woman, so I found her rudeness particularly distressing) And same problem re timing of order... I was not informed it would be 2 months minimum (still not here, ordered 11/28) I cannot recommend this store unfortunately

For Christmas I restored an antique family heirloom piece of furniture for a family member. The restoration required new drawer pulls and door knobs, and, not being knowledgable about furniture styles, etc, I didn't want to order from the internet or buy from a big box store.

I visited Decorum and was absolutely amazed at how invested Kimry, the woman who was working that day, became in my project. She helped me look through boxes and boxes of old inventory, all the while making suggestions and providing information regarding what would be "fitting" based on the age of the piece. The key piece of information is that she knew from the beginning that my purchase would not be a significantly large sale.

She returned to the picture I provided two or three times and even suggested a couple of very low-cost items that I hadn't thought of that absolutely "made" the restoration. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Kimry for her time and her incredible level of customer service. While I was a looking, another couple came in, and she treated them with the same level of professionalism.

Moving forward, when I need any lighting or hardware of any kind for my home, I will refuse to shop elsewhere. The service and product line is second to none. I hope Decorum is around for long, long time.
