Do not send your child here. They will put your child on meds even if they don’t need them. I was put on medication that made me feel physically uncomfortable to where even standing or laying down felt uncomfortable. I told the nurses and doctors but they made me stay on the meds and told my aunt they wanted to keep me there longer because I said the meds made me uncomfortable. I was crying from how uncomfortable I was and the staff and nurses laughed at me. I only got released because I had a funeral to go to. One nurse is childish and fights and argues with the patients. Staff doesn’t keep their pens up, one patient kept getting a hold of these pends and taking them apart and cutting themselves with it. Staff is lazy and abuses power. Staff watches TikTok and plays games on phones when in the day room. One staff was racist, I asked for water but got told no, just a minute after a patient of the opposite color asked for water and got it. This staff member only responded to one color of patient. I brought this issue up and this staff told me “shut up before I call a code on you, that’s why you have to be in here and I get to go home at the end of the day stupid lil white girl.” I was not being disrespectful in any way or arguing. Another staff member was very rude so I told a different staff member I wanted to go to my room because the rude staff member was pushing me to the point of anger and I wanted to go in my room until the rude staff member’s shift was done. After being allowed to go to my room the rude staff member came into my room and started yelling at me. I had to go back to the day room to eat dinner and the rude staff member threw my plate on the table and it fell on my lap. This place is dirty and one patient brought fleas in and I was bitten and several other patients. Gym is dirty and unfinished, has exposed ceiling and insulation falls from it constantly.

I feel compelled to share my thoughts regarding a situation that has recently come to my attention. I speak to my child daily, recently he has been hyper focused on the latest "gossip." I was informed that one of the social workers, Jamie, is reportedly dating a younger staff member. All of a sudden, it feels as though my child is no longer making any progress in his treatment, mainly because his focus is now on the latest news around the hospital. It's a shame!

While I understand that relationships may form naturally in any workplace, I believe this situation raises serious concerns about professionalism and the boundaries that should exist between staff and patients. A child and adolescent mental health hospital is a sensitive environment, where trust and safety are paramount. The dynamics between staff members and patients should always be clear and above reproach.

From a parent's perspective, this sort of relationship can be confusing and concerning for young patients, especially when those involved are so close in age to the children they are meant to support, which also makes this situation even more unsettling for me. With all we hear on the news about teachers involved romantically with students, as a Mother, this is concerning! It feels as though the environment is no longer one of professionalism, but one where personal matters may be impacting the ability of the staff to fully focus on their roles and responsibilities.

I strongly believe that the hospital should be addressing this issue, ensuring that there are clear boundaries in place to protect all involved. The well-being of my child and the other patients should always come first, and as parents, we need to feel assured that the people in charge of their care are putting professionalism and ethics at the forefront.

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I had high hopes for my Childs time there.

I would definitely recommend this place. My daughter had a positive experience. The staff, nurse, and Dr were all very very helpful and there anytime I had questions. I felt all of our concerns were heard and we got the best of help. Jaime (social worker) was very nice, supportive, and stayed in constant contact giving updates and being available. She is incredible at her job!

Hi guys my name is Lukas and I'm just now writing this despite being there a couple years ago. I pray to God some of my friends find this and are alive. I made amazing friends and I'm very antisocial. I give it one stars because I literally got cussed out for being allergic to something which they forced me to eat and I was left in the bathroom for an hour and a half vomiting. On top of that I was given an unprescribed medication and got it basically shoved in my mouth when I asked what it was but the Lady barely spoke English as well and she got very mad. Mind you I never talk back to adults and I'm very much a listener. Anyways. My last day being there there was a new nurse and I went and asked her for my medication because I could tell I needed it... Cold sweats, heart palpitations, I kept scratching my skin raw and bloody, I couldn't walk. Also when I wore on these pills I wouldn't wake up till about the afternoon. Anyways there was a new nurse my last day being there and she got really upset and immediately took my side when I asked for the medication and she ran into the room and threw everything out of every single cabinet and could not find what pills I were being fed. On top of that the food was really gross and the floors were absolutely disgusting and the gym roof had like fur that was sopping wet when it fell. It was SO cold everywhere. We didn't even do anything. Like sometimes we listen to music and colored. The other staff where very very very nice. The only thing that kept me happy were my friends that I made.

My daughter was released and was told she would be put in out patient care and after a week nobody had returned our calls or messages via the website and she has no outside care or treatment plan. They basically kidnap your kid for a week and start them on medication without a follow up psychiatrist or any other therapy or help. Unbelievable that this is how they treat minors with mental illnesses.

My daughter had a great experience there, She loves Ms. Pat & said how she is very organized and likes to keep things neat. There was also a lady there I do not know her name, that is very knowledgeable with keeping the children from self harming themself , she noticed the smallest thing & let me know that kids could try to hurt themselves with it. My daughter was dreaming of ponies the night before her discharge. Overall they did a wonderful job with making my daughter leave happy . I'm very proud to say that. The young lady who discharged her was wonderful and the receptionist and in take were very professional. They kept in contact with me on a daily basis to inform me about my daughter's progress, and any medication that maybe needed.
