Extremely lazy and unprofessional assessors office staff. I called at 4:10 to get information about my taxes and they refused to provide information saying their computers were going down because they close at 4:30. This means they don’t want to do their job for the last 20 or 30 minutes of the day. Extremely unprofessional and frustrating that I now have to take a day off of work because they’re too lazy to do their jobs.

This office is very disorganized, and the assessors are lazy and unprofessional. They feel no inclination to help people and are incredibly rude to those who ask. They act as though they the citizens are beneath them, and they have some sort of power over us. Getting any information from anybody at this courthouse is always like pulling teeth, and nobody seems to know what they are talking about.

Someone in County Government needs to do a real housekeeping of the discourteous and unprofessional staff in this office. And the their level of compassion for Senior Citizens and the working poor of Marion County WV is sorely lacking. They seem to be so caught up in their entrenched bureaucracy that they have lost touch with the people. And when any public servant does that it is time for them to go! The people in that office seem to have forgotten that they are here to SERVE the people and are not our masters. And the voters needs to kick the County Assessor, James P. Priester,out of office in his next re-election bid. He prefers to hide out in his office rather than face taxpayers who come into see him. I think this whole office has forgotten who pays their salaries!
