My husband and I have been to Sugar Mamas’ multiple times over the years they’ve been in business at the Apple Shed. Several times I’ve wanted to write an honest review, but haven’t because I want to support our local businesses.
This morning I stopped by to pick up two pastries, a Nutella croissant and a Blueberry turnover. The chocolate was bone dry (see picture). Hardly any Nutella to be seen and it cost over $4. This isn’t the first time one of their Nutella or chocolate pastries has been like this, but every 6-12 months I try them again because they’re my favorite. The blueberry turnover was soggy and not very good, but at least it had filling. It’s so disappointing because we got some pastries from here on Mothers Day and they were delicious, so I know they can make good pastries. I also don’t love that they charge full price for dry, two day old products. Give a little discount if they’re not fresh.
Anyway, this is my honest review from a long time customer. I hope some improvements can be made because I want to keep coming here.

The blueberry danish at Sugar Mamas’ Bakeshop was unreal. It was served warm, which made it even better. The shop owner was kind and attentive. We also picked up a freshly baked loaf of sourdough bread. Well worth the hour drive.

I looked at the mixed reviews before our road trip to Cedaredge to visit this coffee shop and decided to give it a chance. The picture shows our lunch which also included a small lemonade that was basically out of a jug from city market. This was $48. My chicken salad sandwich was basically half a sandwich and the bread was so dry it crumbled with every bite so I gave up and ate the chicken with a fork. We really wanted to like this place because we enjoy visiting the area but unfortunately we won't be back.

Cute little shop, but the sandwiches are not worth the price. 4 sandwiches and chips for $58.00 and there was hardly anything on them and the size made me laugh. I did want to say that the Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw as sides are really good. Thank you for offering a gift certificate that what be wonderful. Your breads and pastries do look very yummy.

Pastry’s were good but the cashier was on her phone when i was getting my money. I handed it to her and she was STILL on her phone and didnt noticed for a minute that i had my cash. I think she could’ve waited till after the customer had left to get on her phone not while she was waiting for me to get my cash out.

I unfortunately did not get any pictures and hope that we get some back to add to this review. Sugar Mama’s made all the cupcakes and cake for my wedding. Everyone at the wedding loved the cupcakes.
We did funfetti and carrot cake. We appreciate Sugar Mama’s and all of their hard work for helping make sure everyone had a sweet treat at the wedding.

My husband and I have been in a few times with no issues. My husband goes in occasionally when passing through because we live in Montrose. We'll today My husband stopped in to get some bread. And he said HELLO instead of ringing the bell 🔔 that he didn't see.
The lady proceeded to scold him for yelling and not using the "bell". My husband needles to say just walked out. He/we will not be returning. Hopefully they learn to treat their customers with kindness and respect.
This was around 3pm on Saturday September 13th.

The bakery was great to work with on some large orders we had to make for a company retreat. Great pastries, great coffee, would visit again!
