I just had the best experience with these guys today. I bought my shades about four years ago and today they weren’t working with the remote. I was in a bit of a panic because I’m selling my house and the photographer is coming tomorrow. These guys responded very quickly and searched for new equipment and offered to come out to reprogram the system. Through a bit more troubleshooting we determined that it could be a low battery in the remote (which was weird because everything was lighting up). After a quick trip to the battery store we were back up and running. So, thanks again guys!!

I've worked with Denver Shade twice now, and delighted both times. A couple years ago, they installed a wind sensor on an outdoor awning that we've got, and did it quite professionally--was very happy. More recently, when the awning started retracting mysteriously, I reached out to their service dept by e-mail and got a prompt reply that was spot on, and something I could fix myself. Very appreciative of their help. Would definitely recommend them!

After several years of being virtually unable to use our terrace due to intense summer heat & sun we finally decided to get some awnings. We couldn’t be happier with the results. The awnings look wonderful, function perfectly and have completely changed our summer lives. Brandon Wagner and also his installation crew are knowledgeable, efficient and very professional. The awnings needed to be installed on 2 long sides of our conservatory which made it more complicated than just off a house wall. It was impeccably done. I don’t ever do reviews but I’m very happy to have done this one.

A review update based on the response from owner: When the project came to an impasse in August of 2023, I did refuse to pay the remaining balance. I felt that this was the only recourse to hold to account for the horrible project that I had endured. I understood that the odds of fighting a lawsuit over a product that was finally delivered and finally functional was going to be a difficult fight (as is the case with construction issues where the project is essentially delivered, even with obscene delays). I felt it was worth the fight and would absolutely take up that fight again. If I cared about the money, I would have settled for paying less. The judge did find that at the end of this project, I had the pergola and it was functional. I had to pay that remaining balance. However, late fees and interest were denied due to the unreasonable delays. I also learned from the court experience that when lies and deceit is the common practice, I should have walked away from the project before construction finally started. I suppose it is convenient to place blame on the COVID pandemic even in mid 2022- August of 2023. However, I find it difficult to follow how that explains many of the issues that I encountered specifically on this project. There were not unexpected delays, it was a year of lies from Denver Shade Company regarding the known delays. It was unwillingness and incompetence in dealing with construction issues until, for example, they resulted in significant and dangerous electrical impacts. Finally discovering the deceptive inclusion of terms & conditions during the initial contract communication. The COVID pandemic is not responsible for a lack of integrity.

I engaged with Denver Shade Company to install a pergola on my back patio. Denver Shade Company's lack of integrity throughout my interaction with them, poor project coordination and issue resolution, lack of communication and extreme delays led to the most frustrating construction project I have ever been a part of.

I do have significant involvement in home improvement efforts to compare this to. My experience with remodeling my entire 1910 home, including adding a second story, was enjoyable as it was managed very effectively. That complete remodel took 8 months less time than the Denver Shade Company's installation of this 10'x18'pergola onto the back patio of that same home.

Denver Shade Company stated that the overall timeline of the project would be 4-6 months and it was 1 year and 10 months (22 months) when work ended. The delay in starting the installation of the project was 5 months and communication was horrendous. The installation stage was expected to be 1-5 days per their provided project schedule, and it was over 299 days.

Ongoing and continual issues plagued the installation. For example, the gutters were installed without the correct slope and were not draining correctly. I communicated this to Denver Shade Company multiple times and the concerns were dismissed. The gutters were finally addressed after the incorrect drainage led to a serious electrical issue. The extreme delays and issues encountered during this project showed Denver Shade Company's significant understaffing and overcommitment to other projects.

Overall, this was a horrible experience, and I would not recommend Denver Shade Company.
