This is a very impressive place. My brother and sister-in-law in Tucson looked at 12 memory care facilities before they decided on this one for my mother, who has severe dementia.

There are several reasons for this: the space is intimate (not sterile), residents are actually smiling and engaged, lots of social activities are planned daily, the healthcare managers are empathetic and professional; and we saw my mother go from someone who was very angry and raging to someone who was smiling and participating in social activities with other residents.

Before we signed on the dotted line, the management there had separate Zoom calls with me and my other brother (we don’t live in AZ). What impressed me about this was that nothing was “staged“. The manager walked around the facility with her phone camera, showing us exactly what it looked like and felt like. That suggested that management was comfortable with transparency, and showing the facility as it was – with no pretense.

After my mom arrived, the manager sent a video to us, showing my mother relaxed and smiling and singing with the other residents. This was quite moving to our family, because we had been feeling quite anxious about moving her from her house into a memory care facility.

As a family, we are grateful for, and impressed with, this place. It is everything we could have hoped for: making us feel optimistic about this new (more social) chapter in our mother’s life. I would say it’s a hidden gem in Tucson!

Not a “Connoisseur” of Assisted Living faculties-but after visiting a few in Tucson -am impressed with the way they interact with their Residents as well as Visitors-like kids visiting from CHICAGO.

The new Director there -Suzanne Porter’s
a woman of her word... and has done her best to make my 86 year old Artist Mother “feel” very special -there, and
as we ALL need attention-older folks and young kids are the same-IMHO-
as far as needing lots of attention- that my Mom failed to receive.

Food?:
Institutionally driven.. frozen veggies, warmed -alongside a plate
of Beef-a-Roni-esque- Raviolis
with a very WHITE sauce atop-
didn’t please my palette.

In 20 months I witnessed incremental increases in charges and similar declines in quality of service and declines in quality of food. Inflexible one-size-fits-all policies result in over-billing. My brother is SO MUCH HAPPIER since he moved out of that negative environment! I highly recommend people consult with Robin at Tucson Senior Placement before putting a loved one in ANY sort of assisted living arrangement.

While I can’t rate their specific services, I can state that the staff here are genuinely kind and welcoming. I was stranded here on a bike during a downpour - if their hospitality to a complete stranger is any indication of their ethos, I am certain that they would provide top-notch, warm services for your loved ones.
